Gear Review: PGYTECH’s OneGo 2 Camera Bag Series

If you’ve invested on thousands of dollars on camera equipment during your photography or cinematography career, it might be time to take a second look at your camera bag. Does it really protect your precious gear from the elements? And does it impede or improve your workflow?

These questions have been on my mind as I’ve tested three PGYTECH camera bags in various environments and scenarios. I hope you enjoy this honest review of the OneGo 2 Backpack, OneGo Lite Backpack, and OneGo Rope Strap Bag.

OneGo 2

The OneGo 2 20L Backpack is a sleek, weather-resistant option ideal for day-long shoots and adventures. I took this bag on a test run on the Lake O’Hara Alpine Circuit, an 11-kilometre (6.8-mile) alpine loop that offers ever-changing panoramas of the Lake O’Hara region. I wanted to pack all the essentials for a full day of exploration plus my camera and two lenses. Despite it raining sideways for part of the day, the OneGo2 did not disappoint!

FEATURES

This camera backpack comfortably fits one camera body and three lenses in the padded camera compartment. Fully customizable padded velcro dividers ensure efficient storage and protection.

Unlike the OneMo I reviewed last year, the OneGo 2 has a separate top-access compartment. This conveniently allowed me to separate my camera gear from my hiking layers, snacks, and other must-haves. The magnetic one-handed closure system came in handy when the weather turned unexpectedly.

Made with durable materials, a breathable multi-layer back panel, and ergonomic design, the OneGo 2 surprised me with the way it stood up to the elements and the demands of alpine photography.

OneGo Lite

The OneGo Lite is a lightweight camera backpack designed for urban exploration and photography. I packed my camera gear into this bag for a road trip in the Canadian Rockies. It was the perfect companion for a scenic drive up the Icefields Parkway. With the OneGoLite, everything I needed—a body, two lenses, accessories, a coffee thermos, and extra layer—was on hand whether I was shooting a roadside vista or trekking to a nearby viewpoint like the one pictured above.

FEATURES

The OneGo Lite is the perfect partner for creatives who travel light. This 16 L camera backpack packs and protects one camera body, three lenses, and your everyday essentials. The quick-access side opening makes it easy to retrieve your camera from the padded compartment. The magnetic clasp of the top compartment is equally easy to access. The bag is equipped with two exterior side pockets that expand as needed; this meant that my water bottle and cell phone were always secure and within reach. As a digital nomad who frequently works on the road, it’s also worth highlighting the secure laptop sleeve with a strong magnetic enclosure.

OneGo Rope Strap Bag

I didn’t know I needed a OneGo Rope Strap Bag until I had one. This sling-style carrier has become my go-to for sessions requiring a minimalist setup. When all I need is my Canon R5C and one lens (either my workhorse 24-70 mm or nifty 50 mm), spare battery, memory card, wallet, and phone, the OneGo Rope Strap Bag is a compact, stylish, and adaptable solution.

FEATURES

The OneGo Rope Strap Bag is a versatile option for going fast and light. The well-padded straps adjust in a way that transforms the bag into four carrying styles: shoulder, crossbody, underarm, and hand-carry. Made from a nicely padded splash-resistant nylon, this innovative camera sling is built to grab and go about your day with confidence.

The pouch comes with removable dividers that create a customizable layout for your camera equipment. The OneGoRope Strap Bag is the perfect size for a mirrorless camera and two small lenses. Expanding the bag accommodates a DSLR and one lens (my R5C and 70-300mm lens fit with room for spare batteries, memory cards, and my phone).

Which OneGo bag is right for you?

For the past two years, I’ve relied solely on the PGYTECH OneMo 2 for cinematography and photography gigs. I didn’t think I’d ever need another camera backpack as my OneMo2 remains in good shape despite heavy use in rugged environments. When I tested the OneMo series, I discovered that having a camera bag that is the right size and design for the job improves my workflow, experience, and overall creativity.

Having a lineup of different camera bags is a luxury so if you’re choosing between the OneGo 2, OneGo Lite, and OneGo Rope Strap Bag, I hope this gear review helps you find the best fit for your shooting style.
